EPC Rating Law

From April 1, 2027, all commercial rental properties in England and Wales must have a minimum Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C or above.

By April 1, 2030, this requirement will tighten further to a minimum EPC rating of B.

These changes are part of the UK government’s strategy to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in the commercial property sector. If a property does not meet these standards, landlords may face restrictions on leasing the space.
